We have all been to the website that have a great checkout process. It’s easy to find what you need, place it into the cart, and check out. There may be some suggestions as to what else should go into the shopping cart, and sometimes we take this advice and sometimes we don’t. Either way, we enjoy the e-commerce sites where it offers a simple checkout process.
Any time that the process is not simple, we generally skip the website entirely – and go somewhere else.
There is a lesson to be learned here. In order to get the best results for e-commerce, the checkout needs to be as simplified as possible. It needs to be clearly laid out in terms of what a person needs to do in order to check out, and guide the person there. Otherwise, items will be left in a shopping cart and they will check out with a different company.
Providing reminders that people have not checked out can be advantageous, as well. Conversion rates can improve drastically when the checkout process improves.
